This quilt was commissioned as an anniversary gift for a young couple I’m happy to call friends of mine. Inspired by the colors of a Redwood forest, a place they and I both find peace and comfort. They met and were married in California and thus have deep connections here to their lives together as a couple. The simple geometry and the gradation of color contrasted against the rich blue background evoke the trees, leaves, rocky outcroppings, and foamy seas of this beautifully rugged coastline.
